Dr. McCunniff takes great pride in fostering a trusting and meaningful relationship with patients through efficient communication and individualized patient-centric care.
Dr. McCunniff grew up in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from The University of Iowa with special honors and high distinction in the health sciences before attending The University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He practiced as a general dentist in both public health and private practice settings in Eugene, Corvallis and Portland. With his deep passion for further education and preserving natural teeth, Dr. McCunniff completed two additional years of specialty training at a postgraduate residency program in Endodontology at The Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland.
Dr. McCunniff is a board-eligible endodontist and active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Endodontics, and Des Moines District Dental Society. Dr. McCunniff has both extensive clinical and educational experience, completing hundreds of hours of continuing education annually to ensure his patients have the best outcomes modern dentistry can provide. He is eager to use each opportunity to diagnose, educate, and help his patients overcome their dental related problems.
Dr. McCunniff practices the full scope of endodontic treatment utilizing advanced microsurgical techniques and the surgical operating microscope. The office is equipped with state of the art equipment including CBCT with the most modern materials and technology proven to improve treatment outcomes.
In his free time Dr. McCunniff enjoys spending time with his wife Erin, golfing, camping, and traveling to new places.
